ABOUT NISEKO
What should I wear in Niseko during summer?
Summer in Niseko is mild and refreshing, with average temperatures between 20–26°C during the day and cooler evenings. We recommend wearing breathable layers, comfortable walking shoes, and bringing a light jacket or sweater for mornings and nights. If you plan to visit forests, rivers, or join outdoor tours, long sleeves and pants can offer added protection from insects and sun.
What should I wear in Niseko during spring or autumn?
Spring (April–May) and autumn (late September–October) in Niseko are cool and refreshing, with daytime temperatures around 10–18°C. We recommend wearing warm, breathable layers—a sweater or fleece, a light windproof jacket, and closed shoes. Mornings and evenings can be surprisingly chilly, so a scarf or hat may come in handy. While rain is occasional, there’s no need for heavy gear—just bring something that keeps you comfortable in changing weather.
Are there mosquitoes in Niseko during summer?
Yes, especially in forested and riverside areas. While mosquitoes are generally not aggressive, we recommend bringing or using insect repellent—especially during evening hours or when participating in outdoor activities.
